The Art of Writing

1. One should practice one's writing and be able to write the letters of the alphabet so that they look beautiful, and wise people feel pleased when seeing them.
2. The letters should have nice curves, and the lines should be straight with correct spacing between the letters and words. The writing should be done in black ink, and the rows should look nice, like a string of pearls.
3. Every letter should be neat with proper spacing and distance between letters and horizontal rows. The vowels and letters should be formed properly and made easy to recognize.
4. From the first word of the text to the last word, the writing should be uniform. It should look as if everything was written by one pen all at the same time.
5. The blackness and boldness of the letters, and the style and shape of the letters, should be consistent.
6. The lines should be straight and not touch each other. The letters and markings should not mix with or touch the letters of other words, or spill over into the rows.
7. The student should use a clean writing surface and the distance between all of the rows should be equal.
8. If a reader were to search for errors anywhere in the text, he should not be able to find any careless mistakes made by the writer.
9. If the writer is young, he must write carefully so people are attracted to his writing.
10. The writer should not write so small that older readers will have difficulty reading. Therefore, it is best that the writing is of a medium size.
11. There should be a nice space on the sides of the paper. The writing should look gracefully placed in the center. This way, even if the paper begins to become worn out, the writing will not be damaged.
12. The text should be written with great care so that the readers will hold it in high regard and want to meet the writer.
13. Use the body to put in good efforts so that you leave behind a good name for yourself, and so that many people will be eager to read what you have written.
14. Your writing should be on good quality paper, and the body of the text should be bound together carefully and neatly. There should be a good variety of material contained within the book.
15. The pages should be cut properly, and nice colors should be chosen so that they look good together.
16. Choose a good selection of writing pens from different sources that are firm, thin and straight. Select a variety of colors and qualities of writing tools.
17. Keep various instruments nearby so they are ready and available when needed.
18. Make sure that you have the paper and ink readily available for when they are needed.
19. At the end of the text write a formal phrase of completion. Make use of appropriate drawings and pictures in the text.
20. Keep a variety of wrappings and coverings ready for when you put the books away. Keep them in safe places so they are well protected.
